Elmo addict

Every day Leo gets to watch 20 minutes of Elmo while I get ready in the morning. We have created a monster. At 6AM when he wakes up, he walks into the living room gets the remote and repeats "Elmo, Elmo, Elmo". This scene plays out about 5 times throughout the day when Leo discovers the remote in one of my many hiding places. If only it were so easy for Tom and I to track it down at the end of the day when we have forgotten where we put it.

Elmo also has a fish that he loves named Dorothy. Yesterday I told Leo to say hi to Dorothy (thinking he would wave at the tv). Much to my surprise he strung his first two words together as "Hi Dorady" came out of his mouth. Nope...he doesn't say "hi mama" or "bye dada" but he does talk to a make believe fish on the tv. It is one of the cutest things he has said and I wanted to be sure and capture the memory on the blog. At least before we stage an Elmo intervention. This will closely follow his visit to the Betty Ford clinic to kick his pacifier habit.

I had no idea Leo had such a problem. To help wean him off Elmo, perhaps we could substitute lesser characters, like Mr. Hooper the Grocer or Grover...although wasn't Grover just Elmo before Elmo arrived? Regardless, we'd love to see a video of Leo conversing with Elmo....

I totally understand where Leo is coming from. When I watched the Youtube video of the Tickle Me Elmo doll, I almost ran out and bought one for myself.
Besides, if Leo was able to put his first 2 words together, he can't be that bad ;)
I'm with Doc on seeing Leo conversing with Elmo, please????
